Mistakes that the Indian education system does and how that can be prevented? The following are views of Nelson Mandela on education :”Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”But is this weapon implemented in an accurate way to change the world? As everyone knows education plays a vital role in the development of individuals who would in the future play a major role to change the country’s notion.Where on one hand due to poverty poor children could not afford school education, and on the other hand children from well-off families move to another country to seek better education than their own country. Isn’t this a reason to consider? The foundation of all the mistakes is :Firstly the practice of the traditional educational system was implemented when India was one of the British colonies and still practised without much modification in them.Till today children above 90% are considered to be “toppers” and children with average marks are called “dumb”.still, bookish knowledge is getting more preference than actual practical knowledge.secondly, there is a need to change the 90% theoretical learning with practical knowledge which would increase the interest of children towards education.Theoretical learning and hours of lectures have bounded and narrowed the creativity of these little ones.Without children’s consent, it’s very common for teachers taking up classes of extra circular activities to cover up the pending syllabus.Indian educational system has forced children to lose their actual identity. Not every student wants to be an engineer some children wish to be poets, writers, journalists, doctors and whatnot, teaching through the same pattern up to their secondary education is not productive for them.Bringing certain good changes would help these little ones to shape their future from a very young age, introducing E-learning, the smart class would help them to grasp a good amount of knowledge. The majority of the schools in the country still uses the outdated blackboard to teach students which is now no more than a misuse of one’s irreplaceable strength, which generally teacher waste while writing notes for students. The following are some tips that the Indian educational system can opt for certain options from the countries having a better education system:Finland: A country with a good education system where children do not receive ‘homework’ which is the opposite case in India. They also give 15-20 minutes break after every 2-3, hours of lectures to give time to students to relax.Where teachers also don’t change very frequently which results in teachers becoming like a family of students and helping them personally to grow. The majority of their teaching is based on practical knowledge, according to their educational programs” practicality will provide the best knowledge than just theory”.Japan: Japan with a literacy rate of 99% focuses more on morals, ethics and teaches its young generation through real-life examples, situations and encourages debate in class where no answer is considered wrong but teaches that everyone’s opinions differ.make their students clean their classes provide them with the knowledge that every work is equal.Germany: Countries like Germany invest in more human capital, encourage internships for youths who wish to be responsible at a very young age.By taking such examples from these countries India could also make a better future for the country. And could provide actual knowledge rather than just encouraging to be a “bookworm”.The only solution the Indian education system could bring is ‘ changing the thinking of society towards education, degree, job and can encourage them to go behind the passion.’

Technology: A useful servant or a dangerous master?Christian Lous Lange quotes “Technology is a useful servant and a dangerous master.”Technology is used to make our work done effortlessly within no time. But the question here makes an appearance is, is a technology used in the right way? is the frequent use of social media among youths a big reason to worry? No wonder if we implement it accurately it could be a blessing and on the flip side if used inappropriately it would take no time to become a curse for humanity.People are habitual to see youths who stare at their laptops, phones ignoring the beautiful world out there. it’s quite common to see 2 people sitting beside each other and texting rather than having a real conversation. On a general note, a question always jumps up that what does addiction to technology means and what makes it addictive?Technology’s addiction is obsessing over television, laptop, mobile phone while knowing all its negative consequences. Addiction is generally noticed in youths and teens which results in anger issues, laziness, anxiety, depression. As all these are commonly seen in youths these days, they find it easy and stress relieved when they are around social media. stress, anger related to their relationship, family, peer groups to feel relieved they opt for social media and later on social media itself become one of the leading reasons for stress, anger and depression issues. In a world full of Instagram followership, Facebook’s friendship and youtube subscription youths have buried the ability to make real friends in real life by real conversation.Studies by expert have suggested that after scanning the brain of youths addicted to technology is almost the same as the brain of a person addicted to another harmful drug.Though technology has many flaws, it has helped humans in numerous ways.Lockdown during a pandemic was the first time when technology, was seen differently and was implemented in such a way that no one could have ever imagined.many of our daily chores became online including school education, work, family function, marriages and whatnot within no time it became ‘new normal’.How to prevent the craving for technology? Here prevention of technology means to form a healthy balance between our social and personal life, and it is not possible to neglect both of our lives hence the only solution is to maintain a balance between both of them like besides wasting our precious time surfing on social media by talking to unknown, better to be part of a like-minded community, blogs which would help us to grow. Here parenting could play an important role, we all are aware of the fact that this addiction is mostly among youths, parents by providing tips and ideas to their children could help them to come out of this misuse of social media and bring into play either by doing productive things online by attending an online seminar, class or listening to a podcast.Teens who wish to change their lifestyle could adopt certain ways which could help them to bring their lifestyle on track :by limiting the use of technology up to 50%, and investing the remaining 50%in productive things such as outdoor sports, thinking about the upcoming years .this would help them to avoid their anger issue and will serve for their better physic.Avoid the use of television, phone in the bedroom, during the meal and concentrate on health and give time to family.Instead of watching series, movies the whole day could invest in good books which would help to divert the mind from technology.Detaching from the world full of social media post and likes one could engage in face to face relations with loved one’s.Also taking up certain responsibility would keep busy hence eventually results in staying away from technology sometimes. In a world full of advancement it’s okay to be none advanced it’s okay to be not good at technology.By coming this far to conclude we can say that technology has both pros and cons .as it’s important to breathe to be alive, as it’s important to drink water to prevent choking, similarly, it’s important to be part of technology in such advanced world. But to stay away from addiction disciplining our lifestyle is necessary.-Minal upadhyay
